Some days you just have to fly. 
I'd just finished an 11 hour shift at the day job and was on my way home - but - presented with fantastic skies after a heavy thunderstorm, I just couldn't resist the temptation. Student Pat Fenn was up for some fun so we met up for a quick flight. We topped out at FL80, VFR above ragged patchy cloud. Stunning, just stunning. It was bloomin' cold though, so a spiral descent (at up to 2000'/min) and a greaser to boot saw us on the ground lickety split. Fabulous - and well worth a late tea when I eventually got home. We love to FLY here at Mid Anglia Microlights, not just teach

A lovely day flying the Mid Anglia Microlight P&M GT 450

Some days are just great! 
I'm going to ramble a little but there will be photograph's to compensate  I've just spent a very happy day flying the new Mid Anglia Microlight GT 450. I didn't go very far but just took the opportunity to visit some places I've not been able to for a while. First stop from home base to Beccles via the Grove Farm overhead (at Raveningham) where I taxied in and parked behind an MT Autogyro. After a coffee in the lovely gardens, I Headed off in the sunshine due west to Priory Farm; a PFL near Bungay and a low flight over the Air Museum at Flixton kept me amused until I picked up the gliding site of Tibenham and then on to Priory. The wind was totally crosswind so I elected to land north to south, rolling out towards the hangars. A cuppa and a chat with owner Bob saw me take off in the opposite direction, heading due north through the Norwich zone to Felthorpe, an airfield owned by one of our Students. 2 Tiger Moths in the circuit made a great backdrop to a chat and another cuppa before once more departing into the blue. Norwich were busy and asked me to route out to the north, despite initial disappointment at the more circuitous routing, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I was able to enjoy a great view of my old stomping ground at RAF Coltishall. Very nostalgic but I had to lament the lack of Jaguars on the pan. Next up was a right turn to the south, flying right over my house where my wife and kids were waving enthusiastically from the garden; it's been a while since I passed overhead in a flexwing! After that it was a straight run back for a landing on the westerly runway. Honestly, what a great days flying

A great day to fly - Spring has definitely sprung!

A great (but very hazy) day's flying today. Welcome to Student Mark Burns and congratulations to the Mitchinson's who both passed their Aircraft Technical exam this morning. Father Cliff pipped son Shawn by 2% - but a team average of 97% is rather impressive by any standard!
